the people who swim in pool say they taste salt but the aqr say check cell, flashes red and amber. what do I need to do to correct this?

If you actually do have a good salt level, a clean cell, and adequate water flow, and you are still getting a warning light, then that typically indicates the cell is reaching the end of its lifespan and can be replaced.
