If you're replacing an existing T-Cell-15, this item will fit your existing plumbing and operate just fine. If the pool is really 55,000 gallons that is likely too large for one single cell of this size (which is rated for 40,000 gallon max, ideally used on no more than 20-30,000 gallons).
