Some recommended one that drapes over the side of the pool. Isn’t this system better? Pool/ hot tub combo about 10000 gallons. I like how it connects right to my plumbing.

It is DEFINITELY preferable to use a system that connects to your plumbing when possible. That usually means you'll get a system that is going to give you more power and longer lifespan. This would probably be a good fit.
