I have just enough space to maybe not use this but if I decide to get this. I have 2 questions. The 1st is will it decrease pressure in the system because of adding a vertical section. So I would have to run my vari. Pump at a higher setting? And the second is could I put this in horizontal? Thanks.

I would be surprised if the 4 extra fittings in this kit creates a meaningful impact on flow. If you mean by putting this in horizontal, to attach this kit to a vertical pipe, it might stick out but it should not make the salt system work any differently.
