is the 1.5 hp variable speed pump the one i should be using for a 3000 gallon in ground indoor splash pool? Currently there is a .75 hp constant rpm pump with 2" piping and runs at 12 psi.

Your filter size, pipe size, total length of plumbing, water features, etc... are all factors that can affect your pump sizing. At such a small body of water, I'd recommend speaking to a support team member to go over those details: 866-766-5243
