Currently there is a check valve on the return from my heater back into pool. I know the chlorine generator needs to be the last thing on the return before going back to pool. My question is does the check valve need to stay on between the heater and pool or can it be eliminated from the equation? If needs to stay there should check valve be before or after the chlorine generator?

Check valves are not typically required for chlorine generators, though its not a bad thing. Check valves are usually used before a chlorine tablet dispenser, so the dissolving chlorine that continues to occur when the pump is off doesn't seep back into the heater.
