Sally cells installed horizontally typically need 20-30 gallons per minute of flow. If using a variable speed pump, check your cell when the pump is running at it's lowest RPM's. The cell should remain completely filled with water (helps if it's a clear cell like this one). If an air pocket develops at low pump speeds, increase RPM's slightly and incrementally until water fills the plumbing so no air in the cell is present.
