I am considering using this system t replace a Hayward Aqua Trol. they Hayward has a timer that turns my pump on and off automatically. Does this system have that capability?

No, there are not currently any other models that have a built-in analog timer like that. However, "Intermatic" style timers are commonly available locally, and that would be the same amount of work to use when doing the installation.
