I've decided to go with the CORE55 unit. The installation video looks pretty simple, but the piping is 2" and I have 1.5" pipes and the total span I'll be install the unit into is 14-15 inches.Does the unit come with adapters for 1.5" pipe and is the span from the filter to the return too short?

If you have 1.5-in plumbing, then you would just want to get some off the shelf adapters from the hardware store. It will work just as well. The space should be plenty, as it only needs about a 7-in gap to cut to plumb it in.
