It's too bad that you didn't reach out to us before now. The (salt chlorine) generator is generally thought of as the complete system that generates chlorine from salt in the water. It typically consists of a Control Module that is basically the power and brain of the unit, along with the (Salt) Cell which includes the electrolytic plates energized by the control module, and a Flow Switch that only permits operation when the pump is moving sufficient water.
