I’m looking at buying a new 18’x48” pool and putting this on first thing. Do I need to first add chemicals to get it balanced, or can I just throw in some salt, plop this thing in and let it do its job? Thanks

Always balance your water before expecting your Salt Chlorinator to successfully do it's job. We further recommend kickstarting the pool with liquid chlorine or chlorine shock in order to get the pool to a sanitary level and let the salt chlorinator maintain that safe Free Chlorine level without waiting for it to bring it up from nothing.
