Will the temperature of the water damage the CORE-35? I was told that most salt chlorinators will be ruined if they are ran when water is under 70 degrees. Seemed odd but figured it was worth asking.

Most salt chlorinators will simply produce no chlorine at low temperatures - typically in the 60's. NOT something that damages them. The CORE models can actually produce in even lower temperatures. Keep in mind cold water needs little-to-no chlorination, just like food kept cold doesn't spoil like it does on the counter.
