Only a Jandy system will have a data connection, but any other salt system will still work normally without a remote connection. Put it on the same circuit as the pump, so they turn on and off together, or just plug it in and let the Universal40's flow switch do the work. Salt systems typically just need seasonal attention, and don't greatly benefit from have a remote conneciton.
