I had the notion that a pool salt water chlorine generator would actually deplete dissolved salt when creating free chlorine and it counterpart ion HClO3) Hypochlorus acid . Is the salt (NaCl) actually consumed without returning to it prior state as salt? Since temperature might play a part in chlorine adn/or salt consumption, what is the range of expected salt consumption per 1000 gallons or pool capacity in a hot climate like Palm Springs (summer vs winter). 3200 ppm of salt is supposed to be the ideal concentration, to maintain the salt pool, right? Online, no one seems to address the salt consumption rate issue in Q and A's View answer

What saltwater chlorination system/model do you recommend for a new in ground 3,000 gal cement plunge pool? Also, Is it best to have the clear pipe to see the titanium plates in the converter for ease of monitoring condition? Installed with 1.5 hp variable speed pump 230V with 2 inch pipe inlet/outlet. We have a regular chlorinated pool that we are considering switching over to salt. We started looking because we were looking for a new filter and found one that is a filter with pump and salt water system. Is that all that is needed to switch over to salt water? I've seen you do not need to change your filter to switch to a salt system but that's the main thing we do want to change. we have a 24 ft round above ground pool View answer

I take it this unit (Umiversal 40) will replace a Jandy and be more than efficient on a 30,000 gallon pool or would I be better off choosing the upgraded R30 to R45? I’m new to salt water pools and the circupool which we installed this summer. We leave our pool running all winter even though it is cold. What do we need to do for circupool part? Shut off? Leave it in running, etc? And if running, what setting should it go on? View answer

The installation video looks pretty simple, but the piping is 2" and I have 1.5" pipes and the total span I'll be install the unit into is 14-15 inches.Does the unit come with adapters for 1.5" pipe and is the span from the filter to the return too short?
